Strawberry Kiss
03:16
|
|||
In between seasons
Awakening feelings
The two of us were hungry
Looking for blueberry bushes
On silver mountain
Warding off the fruit flies with our hearts a burstin'
We were so thirsty
Dehydration during hibernation
But springtime is here
Just a little water will bring the garden
From wintertime to light
I'll meet you on the solstice
Ivy covering your eyes
So surprised to find a friend beside you
Veiled in finest vines
And my roar will split the mountain
Awestricken scenery divides
Strawberries clinging from the fountain
By the lips a kiss to keep me inside
The ridges of your teeth
Like switch blades carving initials in trees
Bear kisses bear
Taste buds will flair
As the skin of your tongue wraps around the treat
Of dreamy strawberries
Crushed and cooled
Hooking mouth to mouth
On the cliffs of romance
Overlooking strange worlds below
Where animals can share
We wandered through the forest
Like cubs aroused by vibrant voices
Such peculiar mossy carpets stretched beneath our feet
Teeth of sudden passion tore incisions on my cheeks
And the flavor lasts for weeks
Pure strawberry!
I want to eat you alive
The strawberry kiss

Out Of Control
04:32
|
|||
You have the looks that kill a friend
Leave them jealous in your jet pack
As you fly to meet your man
You have one in every city
You have one in every bar
Jump from space to space with lip gloss
Hidden faces, stolen cars
Who plays the role of the chauffeur
With missing signals on his ride?
Take the make up from the driver
We're just animals down inside
You're out of control...
You're out of control my darling
Jumping from thrill to thrill
Stretch out young centerfold
Cause your out of control
Your the winner of the dating game
But you cannot give enough
Collecting pretty eyes like baseball cards
And a nice young booty to strut
But those playas in the suburbs
Think they have the right to touch
They hit you up on the internet
With no skills to back it up
You abandoned them all the same
For a sexy rendezvous in the rain
But your not to blame
It's that hypnotist on your brain
He said:
"Sell me your soul and I'll take control
Together we'll soar on roller skates by frozen lakes
No one will see our skid marks alive
Nobody will catch us alive!"

Mannequin Mad
03:44
|
|||
Mannequin mad
Flawless paper machete skin
Surrounded by her black hole eyes
Seemingly empty til they cry
Wet glue tears that dried on her halter top
Modest length
Collars point up like werewolf ears
That hear the window shoppers whisper
The moon was in full bloom one night
They scanned the vacant cobblestone road
A voyeur saw her dance under the spotlight
A shoeshine boy stared at his daily dime
Watched Madeline's reflection twirl across his coin
She walked into the glass display
They both blinked twice and she's still again
The shoeshine boy gazes up and sighs
"Mannequin Madeline
Are you really here?
You pirouette in closed clothes stores
But when the clerk opens the door
You disappear
Where do you go, when you disappear?"

Nightingale's Revenge
04:06
|
|||
There's an eye in the clouds
Watching rays of light disguised as animals
I've been hanging with the lions
Drinking root beer floats
Beyond the boardwalks of Coney Island
Waving at the geese as they fly by
A melody besieged my ear
A nightingale was climbing up my leg (with flowers)
I shocked the tanners surfing on their towels
When I stuck my tongue inside that little birds pointed mouth
Conversation developed
Seems we both had relatives in North Carolina
How funny!
What a wonderful trip we'd have
Chauffeuring that Nightingale down I-95
Hope it's sunny!
But the car broke down so quick
I reached over for that kiss
And I missed (in New Jersey)
As the remnants on my lips were bloody
Whistling a song for somebody who had to leave
It rips apart your mouth, my friend
But if I had a chance
I would kiss that immortal bird again
And I would savor her revenge
I could not save her from revenge
The nightingale's revenge!

Soft, silly triangle
Could not fit inside one's chest
The way you could fit a circle or a heart
I roll the dodecahedron
I watch the spinning dice
Do I love you?
Do I not?
I've fallen for your snake eyes once again
Meet me in that grassy valley
Licorice Lake leads the way
The buttercup lights up your chin
Do you want the gold?
Do you want him?
I roll the dodecahedron
I watch the spinning dice
Do I love you?
Do I not?
I do, I do, I do love you
Will you marry me in the clouds?
Our relatives won't be invited
Our friends are not allowed
No one needs to know what we've done here
I won't tell a soul where we've been, dear
Will you marry me in the parking lot
Keep me safe and warm
Like a poem in your pocket

Woodland Virgins
06:46
|
|||
Artemis kissed us with lips that were vicious
Hungry for virgins in the heart of the woodland
She armed us with sickles
Those rusty blades spun
Cutting thin strands
Paving a path for us
Rain covered the fields on the first day of Autumn
All was revealed as the wet grass had softened
The children arose in a military line
Pulling the ropes which the wild things climb
I was there in the trees when you captured me
An axe in your hand
I landed in a bed of leaves
And that were I'll be as you move to pursue me
The night sky
Has opened it's eyes
To spy on it's child
The lightning struck through the bark of The Great Tree
Forsythia leaned over blood veins in the stream
The pussy willow leaned to peak at the scene
Of your tattered brown dress dangling from a thorn
We scampered across the hollowed logs in our clogs
Awakening bears
Your hair poured out like the thistledown
But your heart was heavy
I felt your chest
It felt like dirt
It felt like Earth
Surrounding me
I was there in the trees when you captured me
With strength in your legs to chase me to the clearing
And that's where I'll be as Mt. Cynthus starts to divide
And relinquish it's grip on her slaves
The trees will hide us
The cool wind will guide us
And we'll wrestle like foxes
Til the branches get excited
The waxing and waning
Slopes of your body
Hung bare beneath the moonlight
Kept warm inside a flannel blanket
I'm a secret agent
Venturing under the covers
And I'm smothered in your legs
And I can't see anything
Except your eyes
They glow in the dark
And the grow when the magic starts to write

There Are Longways
04:10
|
|||
I do not know how this mess is going to end
Nervous in our wonder years
Ice skates with energy
A quick maneuver gone awry
I tried to stop behind the line
But plowed past that arms reach distance
Did I injure you?
Your ok?
Well, ok
Let's escape this danger zone
Leaving wonderland
But its hot outside
Humidity sticking to our t-shirts
Hiding teardrops on your collar
Such disappointment
As you turned away
What would you say, when they ask you why you look this way
What would you say?
Would you tell them, you couldn't handle me?
With a heart so clumsy and a long list of lumps
To add to my unlucky streak
Would it hurt you, if I touched you?
The blood in my body is pounding faster
I tried to apologize
Can we give this another try?
Let me walk you home tonight
Hugs of healing
Stars sprawled across the ceiling
Let's take the long way home tonight
Hugs of healing
Stars sprawled across the ceiling
Let's take the long way home

You'll Miss The Snow
04:30
|
|||
The radio proclaims
“There will be no school today!”
So peel off those lazy covers
Pull that curtain rod and sway
Winters frozen to your window
Collect your mittens and your boots
Kick open the front door
There's many new alcoves to explore
Your friends are all outside
Lifting shovels, making lanes
There clearing out the driveway
You meet them on the street and...
Dance in the cascade
Caught in a whirlwind
Spinning in place
With icicles tumbling down
The back of your neck
Under your sleeves
Til the snowman fades and melts away
You'll miss the snow
You've built a mighty fortress
Throwing snowballs at the spies
Footprints gather round the snow angels
You're plotting their demise
And attack oncoming sleds
Moving swiftly down the hill
You did not see her coming
She said her name was Jill
You skied past hidden houses
Wrote her number in the snow
But a rain cloud was approaching
Soon it will be time to go
Just one more hour of laughter
Til our winterlands grown numb
Cause the sidewalks getting slushy
Before it spoils our fun we'll...
Dance in the cascade
Caught in a whirlwind
Spinning in place
With icicles tumbling down
The back of your neck
Under your sleeves
Til the snowman fades and melts away
You'll miss the snow

Quiet Egypt
08:30
|
|||
In Quiet Egypt on the tarp
Baby Cacti plays the harp
Spectrocolorimetry
Sparse, secluded, glowing beads
Philosophers had such nights in mind
As they drew lines from star to star
Architects leaned on calculus dreams
But the numbers were so far away
All those lights up in the sky
Couldn't count the creatures down below
Nestled in burrows and sleeping bags
The sea people making plans to overthrow dictating giants
Tomb robbers stumble over forgotten prose
The water kittens curled in ball upon their laps
With reverberating purring to quell the Meshwesh
Round belly dancers on the street
Tickling tummies in the open air
And though the night life was aging there
The tiniest romance sparked beyond that hill
It was so peaceful on that quiet night in Egypt
You could hear the candle wax dripping from the light
The pharaohs image etched upon those gilded beaches
Still clatter from the market collided with his throne
There was a tender spot beyond those shattered mountains
Ancient lovers fossilized in lyrical stone
Sand stained palmetto lizards spooning in the pyramids
Dueling tongues like young iguanas drinking from the Nile

Get Out Of My Room
03:22
|
|||
Someone swiped the tooth beneath my pillow
I searched the bed, they left no payment
Opened the closet, looking for strangers
Hey tooth fairy, give me mine money
I earned it
Things were missing inside my drawers
Frisky fingers paged through my notes
Grabbed ideas
I left a sign on the doorknob
"For whom it concerns"
"Get out of my house"
"Get out of my room"
I got home from work and headed for the bunk bed
My lights were on
There was a naked woman playing my dulcimer
Violence striked as I turned out the lights
Grabbed my mallets and jammed on a D chord
She said "Happy Birthday"
She called on a locksmith
Said "You'd better make room cause I'm here to stay"
The very next day she changed my curtains
Rearranged my ringtones
Left a post it overhead and it read "Get Out Of My Room!"
I kicked open the door
Turned over the stereo
Smashed the bunk bed to floor
Ripped her song from my heart
Get out of my head
Get out of my house
Get out of my room
Cause it's over
