about

Originally recorded for the Masterwerks Electronic Compilation. We were asked to write and record a track in 30 days. Under short notice, we reached out to our friends in Chicago (Sunny Shadows) to see if they wanted to work with us. They threw us a couple of ideas and we picked the one that worked for us. Sunny Shadows is the current incarnation of Paul Heintz music (song writer for Calm Palm Vapor, Midstates and Nova Sonic Down Hyper Space.) His music has always centered around the theme "Triumph Of The Human Spirit." We kept this in mind when writing lyrics and editing this song.

lyrics

All the smoke in this bar
Can't hide the broken hearts
Your boyfriends gone
He's a legend in the indie scene
With arms that stretch beyond
The scene which we belong
My girlfriend is clinging on
Her tongue wrapped around his jaw

So, the show goes on
Scribbling a new song
Grinding back stage
So tell me, what's your name?
Will you be my muse,
If I be your slave?
When inhibitions fade, it'll be the greater good

He's not good enough
She's not good enough
For you, for me
There's more to achieve
It's for the greater good

Maybe we could, the greater good
Maybe we should for the greater good
If only you would, the greater good
Baby, we should for the greater good

He's not good enough
She's not good enough
For you, for me
There's more to achieve
It's for the greater good
